Cosmic Culture 12/2

We’re officially in the thick of retrograde season. Slow and steady wins the Q4 race.

Holiday Touchdown

Move over, Taylor and Travis (and their Hallmark-ready romance); there’s a new power duo stealing the NFL spotlight! Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and multi-talented actress-singer Hailee Steinfeld are officially engaged. The couple, who’ve been dating since May 2023, broke the news on November 29—exactly a week after the big proposal.

While I’m here for this matrimonial end-zone play, I’m even more hyped about what this means for the NFL playoff season. Picture this: Taylor and Hailee as WAG queens, holding court in rival suites while the Bills and Chiefs dominate the AFC playoffs (Buffalo leads the AFC East; Kansas City rules the AFC West). Now, universe, hear me out—how iconic would it be if this all led to a pop acapella halftime riff-off? I’m talking Pitch Perfect vibes, and yes, it would be ACA-SICK.

✨ Cosmic alert: Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s synastry is as adorable as it gets, filled with playful curiosity and deep emotional security. Josh is a Gemini Sun, Cancer Moon, and Scorpio Rising while Hailee is a Sagittarius Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Cancer Rising. Josh and Hailee have plenty of sister sign synastry going on: Gemini / Sagittarius and Cancer / Capricorn; opposites attract making a better whole type of vibe. Their rising signs add another layer of harmony—Scorpio and Cancer are water signs, forming a natural trine that flows effortlessly. It’s no wonder this duo clicked so easily from the start. As they both approach their Saturn Returns, this engagement feels cosmically timed. Saturn is all about stepping into responsibility, and for Josh and Hailee, marriage and commitment will be cornerstone themes in this new chapter of adulthood.

Raise Your Glass

And just like that, the era of Vanderpump Rules as we know it has officially come to a close. After months speculation, Bravo confirmed this week that Season 12 will feature an all-new cast, described as a “close-knit group of SUR-vers as messily entangled as their iconic predecessors.” The writing was on the wall—especially after the Scandoval fallout (March 2023 marked the beginning of the end) and that gut-punch Season 11 finale montage of the cast through the years.

It’s been a whirlwind week for VPR fans. Alongside news of the reboot, Schwartz & Sandy’s (forever collateral damage from Scandoval) announced its closing. Meanwhile, fan-favorite Kristen Doute—now starring in The Valley (a.k.a. VPR’s unofficial alumni clubhouse)—debuted her pregnancy bump on Instagram, and Ariana Madix strutted her stuff at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (we love queens coming out on top). One thing’s for sure: we can all raise our glasses high to the magically chaotic cast that will forever be good as gold in our books. Those really were the best (read: messiest) days of our lives, and reality TV will never be the same. Now if we can just get Scheana Shay on Dancing With The Stars

✨ Cosmic alert: Pluto’s move into Aquarius is shaking up timelines—including the reality TV universe. With Mercury retrograde hanging around until December 15, the cosmos is giving us the perfect chance to tie up loose ends and reflect before stepping boldly into the next chapter. Retrogrades are all about revisiting, reassessing, and slowing down—especially with Mars joining the retrograde party next week (through February 23, 2025). Consider this your cosmic cue to indulge in a good power Vanderpump Rules binge to soothe your soul as you wind the year down.

Kiss and (Sort Of) Tell

All roads inevitably lead to Bravo. Earlier this week, Countess Luann de Lesseps of Real Housewives of New York fame spilled some piping-hot tea: she and none other than Hugh Grant (currently serving deliciously creepy vibes in Heretic) once shared a tipsy make-out session at Pierre’s in the Hamptons. Life truly is a cabaret. The Countess allegedly orchestrated a not-so-accidental run-in with Hugh before deploying her signature bend and snap

The pièce de résistance? Hugh’s response on Twitter (because we refuse to call it X). The dashing-ish Brit acknowledged meeting Luann 15 years ago but claimed a foggy memory of the kiss. Crucially, though—he didn’t deny it (we see you, Hugh). True to his Notting Hill charm, Hugh says it best by saying almost nothing at all, while Luann continues to say it best every time she appears on Watch What Happens Live.

✨ Cosmic alert: This week’s celeb gossip couldn’t have dropped at a better time—right in the midst of Mercury retrograde, which kicked off on November 25. Retrogrades are all about revisiting the past, making this the perfect season for unexpected reunions, trips down memory lane, or even a case of the “Ex” files. But watch out—retrogrades can also stir up misunderstandings and mix-ups, especially since Mercury rules communication and dialogue. This retrograde is happening in Sagittarius, the sign of travel, adventure, and (fittingly for Lu) foreign men. Mercury is activating Luann’s natal Sagittarius Moon, the placement that speaks to her emotions and nostalgia. And here’s the kicker: Hugh’s natal Jupiter (planet of charm and charisma) lands right on top of Luann’s Moon—a cosmic indicator of magnetic chemistry and undeniable sparks. While Hugh may be fuzzy on the details, the stars are whispering a different picture.
