Cosmic Culture 10/04

A big Eclipse week unearthed revelations and explosive headlines. Things calm down briefly before we resume an intense cosmic push through the year-end. Spoiler: There will be tears.

She’s Free

Kesha is back with a vengeance (and it’s about damn time, tik tok). Now 37, Kesha has gained full autonomy over her future music and releases and is ready to take down the bad boys of the music industry (see what we did there?). In an interview with Elle, she speaks about reclaiming joy as a feminist act, her new record label launched last month (Kesha Records, of course), and even spills the tea on her love life (a “Star-f***ker” ex broke up with her because she bought someone else to one of Taylor Swift’s parties, rude). This is Kesha’s new music mogul era, and we’re all along for the joyride.

✨ Cosmic alert: Kesha is a Pisces Sun and Moon with a Sagittarius rising (the party truly doesn’t start until she walks in); a compassionate soul wearing the mask of a truth-teller and visionary. This eclipse season was MASSIVE for Kesha, culminating with this Elle spread released on the day of the Solar Eclipse in Libra, a supercharged new moon focused on righting the scales of justice, dredging up deep-seated feminine rage and mother wounding around the way we advocate for our needs (we can thank Black Moon Lilith for that). This interview is her unofficial battle cry as she looks to dismantle the institutional music patriarchy over the next ten years (coincidentally, the next time we’ll experience eclipses in Libra).

What, Like it’s Hard?

Elle Woods, sorry, Reese Witherspoon, has written her first novel! The founder of “Reese’s Book Club” has spent the last few months writing with bestselling author Harlan Coben of the thriller series Myron Bolitar. You better believe a screen adaptation of the pair’s forthcoming novel is already in the works ahead of the book’s Autumn 2025 release. Witherspoon and Coben have previously been involved in screen adaptations of novels: Witherspoon via her production company Hello Sunshine while Coben is the creator of the British mystery series The Five and the French-British crime drama television show Safe. The yet-to-be-named book is available for pre-order.

✨ Cosmic alert: Reese is a fearless Aries Sun with Venus (artistry) and Mercury (ideas) in dreamy Pisces. Aries types are known for their pioneering leadership, which isn’t surprising considering Reese’s ventures outside the acting realm. This Solar Eclipse in Libra activated her transformative natal Pluto, indicative of a chapter beginning around her new artistic identity. Libra is the de facto sign of talent, art, and collaboration!

Catfish Fry

Indie rock sister act Tegan and Sara are back in the spotlight. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the queer icons are finally opening up about their 15-year catfishing stalking nightmare that targeted Tegan and their close-knit fan community. The twin sisters learned of “Fake Tegan” in 2011—a stalker who used their emails, passport photos, and mother’s medical information to fool fans. Creepy. Tegan ultimately enlisted the help of fearless documentary filmmaker Erin Lee Carr (Britney v. Spears and At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastic Scandal) to find the person responsible for “systematically” destroying her life. Through the filming process, Tegan seems to have arrived at closure and a place of compassion; it is worth noting that the true identity of the catfish isn’t revealed on camera. Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara drops on Hulu on October 18.

✨ Cosmic Alert: Fanatical will be released around the full supermoon in Aries (October 17). Full moons typically mark the culmination of a long-awaited project or effort, and this one certainly packs a punch! While we’re technically out of eclipse season, the rest of October promises more shake-ups and reveals sure to take people by surprise. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) will be most affected. Look back to March 21, 2023 for more clues about what might be personally culminating for you.
