Cunk, Wet Leg, and a cookbook for kids

Watch

Folks can gripe about Netflix all they want, but the content giant keeps serving with all 4 recommendations this week. Get your romcom fill with Your Place or Mine, laugh-til-you-pee comedy with Cunk on Earth, inspo from The Swimmers, and lessons in psych with Jonah Hill and his shrink, Stutz.

Listen

If you haven’t reminisced and bobbed your head to Unknown Mortal Orchestra lately, it’s time. Equally enjoyable but for altogether different reasons, The Economics of Everything walks us through the ins and outs of Girl Guide cookies. When I’m living day after day feeling like a chauffeur to my kids, audiobooks save my life - They’re Going to Love You is scrumptious, and made extra-so as it’s voiced by the author herself. Finally, live out your angsty 90s dreams while you bang your head to Wet Leg. So good. So, so good.

Read

Those that have been here for a while know that one of my favourite books is Who Cooked the Last Supper. Nothing has come close to riling up my feminist awakenings, but we may have a contender: Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries: how women (also) built the world is an artful nod to the women before us who paved the way and went unrecognized. The Goon Squad author is back! Jennifer Egan gifts us The Candy House, one of the more intellectually stimulating (and challenging) reads I’ve indulged in over the past few months. Finally, I love a solid biopic, and C. W. Gortner does not disappoint with The American Adventuress, all about Winston Churchill’s mother.

Indulge

Leather jackets are a solid seasonal transitional piece and are the *one* purchase to make this spring. I’ve popped 4 recommendations below and happy to scour for more!

I’ve whine about lululemon’s apparent ‘eff this’ attitude toward us tall gals and our desire for 31” inseams, but I’ve accepted a 28” inseam for these SenseKnit running pants. Honestly, holy shit. I feel like I’m poured into a vacuum seal storage bag with these babies on - excellent!!

SIDIA is a Canadian brand brought to us from the founder of Coveteur. I especially love their hand exfoliant, which I discovered at FigFace. Get it, folks. Get your small pleasures wherever you can!

Makers and raisers of smöl humans

Okay, I wasn’t expecting to love sourcing for this section but alas, I do, and very much so. With a few baby and toddler nieces and nephews in tow, I just keep adding to the wishlist! A Gameboy silicone teether? Uh, yeah. How about some adorable sunnies for when it’s finally sunny again? Sure, why not. A cookbook for kids by chef’s that have kids? Mmhmm, now we’re talking.
