Cosmic Culture 05/18

A week of surprises, unexpected narratives, and revealed “truths”- sounds like we’re on the cusp of Gemini season.

Get Ready to Bend and Snap All Over Again

It's time to un-retire your pink wardrobe from last summer (whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed). Earlier this week, Reese Witherspoon slipped into a hot pink skirt suit with matching Louboutin slingback heels to announce a Legally Blonde prequel series slated for release next year - Elle. The series will focus on Elle's high school years and is executive-produced by Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine.

✨ Cosmic alert: Loyal fans of the cult classic will remember Elle (and beloved Bruiser) as a Gemini vegetarian known for her quick banter and memorable one-liners (What? Like it’s hard?). Gemini is the sign associated with curiosity, communication, and connecting dots that others might not be able to - remember, the rules of hair care are simple and finite!

A Woman’s Vocation Meets Female Rage

You might not be an NFL football girlie, but you might be familiar with Harrison Butker. In case you missed it, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker delivered a highly controversial commencement speech at a traditionalist Catholic college that, among other things, compared Pride Month to a “deadly sin” and suggested that one of the most important titles women can hold is “homemaker.” While free speech is very much a thing (ish) no deal the 1950s shit they want from me - get it off your chest, get it off my desk.

✨ Cosmic alert: Harrison Butker is very Cancerian. Yes, Cancers can be tender and kind, but all signs contain multitudes; he’s got his Sun (identity), Venus (values), and Mercury (intellect) in the crabby, sensitive sign. Cancer is concerned with safety, trust, and family matters - divination and religious themes also feature prominently; at a low vibration, Harrison might find it difficult to see other’s perspectives through his tears.

Body-ody-ody-ody-ody

Layoffs be damned, Sports Illustrated is back with its special 60th-anniversary swimsuit edition featuring none other than “CBS Mornings” and Oprah bestie Gayle King on the cover! At 69, King is the latest seasoned celebrity to pose for the magazine in recent memory; Martha Stewart was the oldest woman to grace the cover last year at 81 - remember ladies, age truly is just a number.

✨ Cosmic alert: The recent Jupiter (confidence) - Uranus (unexpected) meetup in Taurus continues to sprinkle its big breakout magic, this time activating Gayle’s natal Venus (beauty) and Saturn (legacy) in Scorpio in her eleventh house of popularity and social networks. Venus in Scorpio types are naturally magnetic and private, however with Saturn in the mix, Gayle might be unsure of the power inherent in her beauty…until now.
