Cosmic Culture 10/25

Scorpio season plunged us into the depth of our simmering emotions. Are you getting the care and help you need?

Bump and Disrupt

J. Law has been cooking—and we don’t just mean her bun in the oven. The A-Lister officially debuted her baby bump on the AFI Fest red carpet for the premiere of Zurawski v Texas, a documentary about women whose lives were put at risk due to Texas’ strict anti-abortion laws, resulting in them suing the state. Lawrence executive produced the documentary, joining forces with Hilary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton to highlight women’s reproductive rights as a bipartisan issue. Amidst a dead-heat U.S. election season that feels evocative of 2016, the documentary’s release could not be more timely. Zurawski v Texas is set to be released on October 25 with a 48-hour free online viewing window available this weekend (October 26-27) for those in the U.S. Details here.

✨ Cosmic alert: Jennifer is a Leo Sun, Gemini Moon, and Sagittarius Rising - an entertainer with the soul of a storyteller wearing the mask of a philosopher. In true curious Gemini fashion, Lawrence is now exploring a career BOTH (more Gemini) in front of and behind the camera, focusing on women’s issues and social causes through her company Excellent Cadavar. It’s worth noting that Lawrence foreshadowed her evolution in an October 2022 interview with Vogue following the reversal of Roe v Wade, and here we are at the premiere of Zurawski v Texas in October 2024. Two years typically denotes a Mars cycle, with Mars describing our ambitions and willpower. It’s a cosmic opportunity to naturally set intentions for projects to culminate by the end of the two-year horizon.

The Church of Stevie

The white witch has spoken! Living legend Stevie Nicks sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Rolling Stone and boy did she spill the tea. In the extensive back-and-forth, Nicks talks about women’s rights (The Lighthouse is a powerhouse anthem), disentangles music rivals from friends (hear that Katy Perry?), and shares cute stories about Taylor Swift (she’s worn the bracelet Swift gave her—engraved with the letters TTPD—for nearly a year!). She also confirmed that she won’t be making music with her ex-lover and bandmate Lindsey Buckingham anytime soon—we feel that, deeply. The duo was responsible for some of pop music’s most iconic breakup songs like Dreams (written by Nicks) and Go Your Own Way (written by Buckingham). While it doesn’t seem likely we’ll get that farewell Fleetwood Mac tour, we’ll have to settle on the new generation of female pop/rock queens for our breakup soundtrack.

✨ Cosmic alert: Stevie is a Gemini Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Taurus Rising—a messenger, with the soul of an elder, wearing the mask of an earth spirit. The astrology is astrology-ing hard. She also has Uranus (planet of rebellion and authenticity) and Mercury (planet of intellect and perspective) in Gemini—the Zodiac sign attributed with communication and words. If it feels like Stevie has been everywhere this year, she has. Jupiter (the planet of expansion and abundance) moved into Gemini in May 2025, serving opportunities for a new generation to be acquainted with her unique voice and grounding witchy leadership.

Love is Blind

TW: This week, Anna Kendrick opened up on Call Her Daddy about her toxic seven-year relationship while promoting her latest movie Woman of the Hour. Kendrick vulnerably shared that she struggled to come to terms with labeling her ex or relationship as “abusive”, revealing that “it didn't follow the traditional pattern, which is kind of yet another reason why [she] was finding it really difficult to identify it and name it as abusive.” Kendrick went on to share an incident where her ex-boyfriend was convinced of his victimhood and began accusing her of “terrorizing” him because she was crying and couldn’t pretend things were fine anymore. While our heart breaks for Anna and her past circumstances, we’re deeply grateful for her willingness to share her experience—one that many women undoubtedly struggle with behind closed doors.

✨ Cosmic alert: Anna’s Call Her Daddy interview arrived on the Last Quarter Moon in Leo this week, marking the end of a 2ish year chapter that began in late July 2022–particularly relevant to Anna (a Leo Sun). The timeline lines up with the culmination of her abusive relationship as she was filming Alice, Darling (released in September 2022). Anna had described the film as an eerie art-imitating-life mimicry of her experience realizing she was in an abusive relationship. Now that she’s at the end of the cycle, she can reflect and digest the experience with more awareness and perspective.
